News Release from Traditional
Republicans for Reform and Accountability: Boss Gilmore
Corrupted GOP Candidate Selection Process To Nominate His Firm’s
Employee, Melanie Donahue, Another Pay-To-Play Lawyer For Toms
River Council; So Now We Have TWO Greedy Lawyers On The TR Fake
Republican Greed Ticket
Toms
River Township Reform Republican candidates have raised
questions about the selection of pay-to-play lawyer Melanie
Donahue as a candidate for Toms River Council in the June 5th
Republican Primary election.
Valvano Dumped For Gilmore Girl:
Donahue
The
Republican candidates, Robert Silva for Mayor, and Robert K.
Haelig Jr., Ed Butow and Charles Henry Jr. for Council, said
they have reliable reports that Charles Valvano was nominated by
the Republican Club candidate screening process and notified of
his nomination. But Valvano was dumped on orders from County
Chairman George Gilmore after Gilmore intervened in the
candidate selection and ordered Donahue’s nomination.

Gilmore: "It Will Be Difficult To
Raise Money Without Donahue"
Gilmore reportedly told the locals it would be “difficult” to
raise money if Donahue were not on the ticket.
“We
are told that Boss Gilmore ordered the club leaders to dump Mr.
Valvano and substitute Donahue, a lawyer in his own law firm,
for the Council nomination. Since most of the trustees receive
payments of one sort or another from public agencies as a result
of Gilmore’s generosity, they all complied with the Boss’s
edict,” Reform candidates said.

Greed Ticket Now Has Two
Pay-To-Play Attorneys
“As a
result of Gilmore’s paranoia, the Greed Club ticket now includes
two pay-to-play attorneys, both of whom are currently involved
in relieving taxpayers of their assets all over Ocean County,”
the Reform Republican candidates said.
Candidates Represent Two Greediest
Pay-To-Play Law Firms In Ocean County
“Even
worse, the two attorneys, Gregory McGuckin, the political
machine’s mayoral candidate, and Donahue, employee of the
Republican County Chairman, represent the two greediest
pay-to-play law firms in Ocean County: Why don’t we just send
our tax payments directly to Gilmore and Monahan and Dasti and
McGuckin, and bypass the middle man,” the Reform Republican
candidates asked?
“We
think the Greed Club leadership should disclose the details of
this debacle, so prospective voters can judge for themselves the
level of collusion and dictation that takes place every day in
Boss Gilmore’s empire of greed and power,” the reform candidates
said.
Gilmore's Machine Adds $120 Million In Extra Taxation
“Our
estimate continues to be that Gilmore’s political machine is a
comprehensive disaster for Ocean County which adds an extra $120
million in extra taxation every year, because of the greed and
power that is validated every time Gilmore or McGuckin gets a
no-bid contract or pulls something like the Donahue incident,”
The Reform candidates said.
“It
is now a matter of record that the other two Greed Club
candidates, Peter Cassano and John Sevastakis, went right along
with Gilmore’s little power play, never said a word about the
substitution of Donahue for Charles Valvano,” the Reform
Republican candidates noted.
