BULLETIN: OceanCountyPolitics Learned As This Article Went To Press That "Doctor" John Moriarty Will Be Called To Account For His Campaign Of Character Assassination And Lies At A Special Meeting Of Democrat Leaders This Weekend. The Fallout Has Been So Intense, And The Complaints Have Been So Numerous, Especially From Democrats Who Find Moriarty And His Methods Offensive, That Feelings Are Running High For Taking Action Against Him

South Toms River: New details have emerged in former Councilman Steven Marshall’s campaign of racist and sexist slurs against South Toms River Councilwoman and former Democratic Mayoral candidate Carla Kearney.

Mrs. Kearney confirmed Tuesday that Marshall has made lewd gestures directed at her on a number of occasions since he was defeated for a second three year term last November.

“He sits in the public section of the council chamber”, which is often nearly empty, “and he makes lewd gestures directed to me which are sometimes accompanied by lewd sounds”, she said.

“Others have seen and heard him; I have brought this to the attention of  borough officials, but so far nothing has been done about it”, she told OceanCountyPolitics.

Marshall Harassed Mrs. Kearney With
Racial Slurs And Sexually Explicit Gestures

Mrs. Kearney said Monday that Marshall harassed her with racial slurs while he was a member of the council, and has confirmed he added the sexually explicit gestures to his repertoire of bad behavior after his defeat in November.

“His behavior is overtly racist, outrageously sexist and fundamentally insulting and cruel” said Councilwoman Kearney, one of only two black elected officials in Ocean County.

The situation was further complicated last week when it was discovered that Marshall, a political associate of Toms River Democratic Boss “Doctor” John Moriarty, was publishing an internet WebSite, strnj•com, which targeted Mrs. Kearney in addition to OCP Editor Richard Schiff, Democratic County Organization Treasurer Patrick Sheehan, South Toms River Democratic Chairman William Hill and Dover MUA Commissioner Robert Haelig.

The Marshall SmearSite was linked to another SmearSite owned by “Doctor” Moriarty, Marshall’s publicist and associate. The Moriarty-Marshall South Toms River site sent an e-mail message to 65 Democratic leaders last week, ostensibly signed with Marshall’s screen name, councildad, attempting to get them to frequent the two SmearSites.

Moriarty miscalculated because, instead of calling Marshall, several of the Democratic leaders, knowing perfectly well who was behind the two SmearSites, contacted Moriarty and told him they didn’t appreciate the smear campaign.

One Democratic Leader Will Go Public If
Moriarty Doesn’t “Cut It Out"

One Democratic leader told OCP he would consider going public if Moriarty didn’t “cut it out.”

“It discredits and demeans the political process and the Democratic Party for the Democratic leader in the largest community in Ocean County to be circulating such vile and obvious lies”, said said another e-mail recipient.

The Marshall-Moriarty SmearSite said OCP “promoted online pornography” and suggested Commissioner Haelig “promotes a company that makes light of rape”, but submitted no evidence to back up the charges.

Moriarty Clone Larsen May Have Lied Again On DMUA Charges

In a related development, Moriarty clone Richard Larsen offered no comment on whether he was completely truthful when he was quoted in the Ocean County Observer that all five members of the Dover Township Committee voted “to begin proceedings to investigate” unspecified and undocumented “charges” made by him and Committeeman John Furey” against utilities authority director John Broome who they accused of accessing public real estate records to respond to a threat of legal action by Larsen and his attorney, Democrat chairman Jeffrey Horn.

There is some indication that Larsen may have lied to the Observer in connection with major parts of the Observer story, which was published last Saturday.

It is not known whether Larsen and Furey share Marshall’s sexist and racist views, but the whole Marshall-Moriarty campaign of cyber-smear has obviously become a single comprehensive entity, with tentacles radiating in several directions at once, and a lot of fallout to come that could further damage the credibility of Democratic elected officials.
